Creating a Vision / Creando una visión

I started out a tumblelog (http://www.tumblr.com/tumblelog/lizrincon-design) where I am posting the images that call out to me when thinking about the type of apartment I want to have. It became clear that I am moved by a modern rustic feel. I want my apartment to be clean and uncluttered, but at the same time, feel cozy and organic, and lived in. I like it to be comfortable, inviting. I do not like a heavy industrial feel so I don't favor too much steel or aluminum, I like wood, but I also like to see a lot of light.

What I want to do is to de-clutter my home, and repaint some walls. I want to also lighten-refinish the baseboards around the house. They are a very dark brown, and it looks harsh against the light cream walls.

I want to finally frame the artwork I've been collecting and make additional pieces that add color, like accent cushions. I might want to rearrange the study and have sitting areas, books that look used but attractive (color coding?), and add inspiration boards for my crafts.

En este tumblelog (http://www.tumblr.com/tumblelog/lizrincon-design) he estado recolectando aquellas imágenes que resonaron cuando estaba pensando en el tipo de apartamento que deseo. Saltó a la vista que me gusta el estilo rustico-moderno. Quiero que mi apartamento se sienta limpio y despejado, pero que se sienta acogedor y cómodo, que tenga elementos orgánicos y se vea vivido. Que invite a compartir. No me atrae tanto lo industríal, pero con algunos elementos crea un contraste interesante que me gusta. Me gusta la madera, pero me gusta que se vea clara, para que la habitación se sienta iluminada.

Lo que deseo es deshacerme de lo que siento que no esta cumpliendo ninguna función. Ordenar, y repintar algunas paredes para que se vean más limpias. Quiero aclarar los rodapies, ya que son un color muy oscuro que se ve mal contra las paredes crema.

Finalmente quiero enmarcar aquellas obras que he ido adquiriendo, y también quiero hacer piezas adicionales que añadan color a los ambiente, como algunos cojines. Quiero reorganizar el estudio y agregarle espacios para sentarse, además de ordenar los libros, quizás por color, y colocar pizarras de inspiración para mis labores.

The way the light floods in, the wood flooring in a kitchen are lovely, but what makes this kitchen is that butcher block island.
